I’m currently using Songbird as my music player at work. It looks pretty cool — mainly I’m using it for the music library feature. It’s basically iTunes but open source.
A happy coincidence/side-effect to using this is that installation effectively solved the sound problems I had with sites such as YouTube. No sound from flash stuff.

Not sure what’s going on here. I’ve seen this car driving around my town a few times, and have noticed that the guy has not one, not two, but FIVE antennas.

Thanks to this article/howto, I finally got a successful installation of xgl under ubuntu 6.06 (at work).
Key things that were causing me problems, previously:
Was not running the SMP kernel, stupidly
Did not run the nvidia config with options to support multiple displays
