I visited the smoke shop today to pick up a tin of loose American Spirit (blue). The guy behind the counter said, “Hey, have you tried the ceremonial pipe stuff?”

I said, “The what?”

He replied, “It’s this new stuff… like peace pipe mix or something.”

He then walked to the side and came back bearing an open pouch similar to what’s pictured above. He cracked the pouch, then slid it under the money tray so I could look at it.

I grabbed the pouch, opened and saw… leaves and shit. Seriously. There are whole leaves of spearmint and crap in there. And it smells like weed.

He offered me a pinch to try, saying it was a sample (first one’s always free). I accepted. I rolled a smoke and… it was like the time in high school when I tried smoking oregano and catnip. Or like minty jane or something. Bizarre!

Lastly, one thing to know about this ceremonial pipe tobacco: it’ll make you buzz like a mother. I’m not entirely certain there isn’t something else unmentioned and illicit in the blend.
