Also, the reason it sounds like a beat is explained (or at least described) in this Radiolab episode about language and music (the “sometimes behaves so strangely” episode).

This is pretty excellent. I’d read that colonial English accents were more like current vanilla North American than current British.

This was going around a little while ago. I really like how he wasn’t just bashing on living a spiritual life. It’s neat to see people stand up in favor of both moderation and an active spiritual life.

They don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Rejecting biblical teachings outright is just as bad as blindly following them — there is value to be gleaned, yet.
