I took a better timelapse of the primrose blooming, this time with three blooms!

I’m using this remote capture software called PSRemote. It’s pretty cool in that it allows a fairly nice amount of control of your camera’s features. You hook your digital up and can access things like exposure, compensations, aperature, etc.

The only problem is that I was shooting in full rez, which takes about 5 seconds to transfer over the USB cable. I wanted to take a 3 second delay since the flower blooms so quickly. Fortunately you can set PSRemote to just save the images to the camera. Unfortunately, I filled up my camera card (512M SD). Further unfortunately, when my card gets full, the save speed gets slower to the point where I was actually running late because it was taking 4.5 seconds to shoot and save :(

Oh well, at least I got it. Night before last I lost track of time and missed the three blooms you see withered below the main ones.

Anyway, check it out, it’s about 2.5M (WMV video).

(P.S. Windows Movie Maker is kind of a hunk of crap. It gets wonky after about 200M of still data. I was trying to trim the movie down and it just hung. Then I tried to save as a smaller file and it told me it would take over an hour to compress — this after the initial compress at 200kbit higher stream took only 2 minutes.)
