I’ve been having a problem with comment spam, recently. There are a few specific IPs that appear to have bots sitting there, waiting for bloglines or technorati to say that someone’s updated their blog — at which point the blog goes and posts to some random comment.
I recommend WPBlacklist. It’s pretty sweet. Lots of options for the granularity and severity of blacklisting.
I’m still in the moderate-not-delete mode to see how many false-positives it returns, but so far it’s doing an excellent job.
