apparently.

Every morning I wake up with a different song playing in my head. This morning it’s “Pop Goes the World”. Sometimes there’s some connection between what I am/have been thinking about lately, but most of the time (like today) it’s just totally random. *sigh*

In other news I watched Joe’s Apartment last night. I hadn’t seen it in years… it’s really not very good, about the only part I like in the movie is the musical number, “Funky Towel”. Alas, I came in just after that part. You know, I’ve come to the conclusion that the WB’s big movie weekend thing or whatever should be subtitled, “We’re too poor to buy the rights to good movies”. I say this because the movie that followed Joe’s Apartment was Dracula, Dead and Loving It — a movie in which we see yet more evidence that Leslie Nielson peaked at Naked Gun and it’s all been downhill from there.

One thing I want to point out about Joe’s Apartment that really disturbs me: It’s not the talking cockroaches, it’s not the improbable storyline even within the confines of the movie environment, it’s the fact that at the end of the movie when there’s the big Church Revival scene where the cockroaches are singing gospel music and stuff… I’m 90% positive the robes and vestments worn by the cockroaches were made out of used pantyliners. Not like for the set props, I mean within the movie. A cockroach jumps into the bathroom trash can in this girl’s apartment and jumps out with what appears to be a Kotex product draped over its head like a robe. That’s just… a little over the top. I dunno. Amusing on a certain level, upsetting on another.

Aside from that, if anyone has an mp3 of “Funky Towel”, let me know. I’d really like to have it.
